River Crest Hospital (a UHS facility):

River Crest Hospital is a modern, 80-bed psychiatric hospital, specializing in the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders that can afflict individuals of all ages, from children and teens, to adults and the elderly. We provide acute inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and addiction treatment programs. We are located in San Angelo, Texas. Position Summary:

To assist the Registered Nurse and Licensed Vocational Nurse in processing paperwork pertinent to care of psychiatric, chemical dependency patients; to answer unit telephone and distribute mail. To order unit supplies. Obtain Labs upon admission to the unit. To complete Lab/EKG paperwork and assist with filing on assigned unit(s). Patients served include adults (ages 18 ), geriatrics (65 ), adolescents (ages 13-17) and children (ages 4-12). If required, assist with medication management and administration to patients.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Skill in organizing and prioritizing work/time. Ability to file alphabetically and numerically. Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the telephone. Ability to use standard office equipment, i.e., copy machines and fax machines. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to read and to write legibly. Ability to work well with others in difficult situations.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED, at least Associates Degree preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: LVN/LPN current Texas License

Current CPR and Managing Aggressive Behavior Certifications

EXPERIENCE:

One year inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.
