The telephone operator handles emergency call and codes. Responds to incoming calls in a timely manner, directs caller to appropriate line demonstrating smooth, clear, and courteous professional communication practices.

Qualifications

Requires at least 1 year of PBX or customer service experience requiring extensive phone work. Previous hospital experience strongly preferred.

Reading and numerical competency.

Requires the ability to fluently speak and understand English. Must have the ability to perform calmly, competently and quickly in emergency situations. Ability to clearly articulate applicable information in a calm, competent and expeditious manner. Able to consistently handle stressful situations with professionalism and utilizes sound judgement. Must have excellent keyboard/computer skills, hospital experience preferred.
