This opportunity is full-time, year round, offers full benefits and a convenient 8am - 4:30pm schedule. 

Position Overview:

Prepare and implements curriculum and lesson plans for adolescent patients admitted to the residential program in a classroom setting. Provides professional level instruction in accordance with North Carolina Standard Course of Study and comply with all state, federal, and local regulatory laws.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree in secondary education preferred.

Experience:

Prior experience in teaching, especially in a treatment setting preferred. Experience supervising teachers in a classroom setting preferred.

License / Certification:

NC Professional Educators License with Middle Grades, Secondary, Cross Categorical or Exceptional Children designation.

Physical requirements:

Light Work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job is rated light work when it requires: (1) walking or standing to a significant degree; (2) sitting most of the time while pushing or pulling arm or leg controls; or (3) working at a production rate pace while constantly pushing or pulling materials even though the weight of the materials is negligible.
