Reporting to the Director of Rehabilitation Services this position provides diagnostic, evaluative and therapeutic procedures for treatment of pediatric, adult and geriatric patients disabled by illness or injury with a goal of optimizing functional restoration and rehabilitation. Provides speech and language treatment to patients.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLSAbility to analyze test results to determine patients' communicative abilities and to determine necessary therapy.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCEPrior work experience in the acute hospital setting preferred. Experience in diagnosing and treating swallowing disorders.REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONSLicense to practice speech pathology by the C alifornia State Board of Medical Examiners required or a RPE/C FY applicant supervised by Licensed Speech Pathologist following State and ASHA guidelines.C urrent BLS (C PR) C ertificate required.C ertificate of clinical competence (ASHA) required for supervisor of graduate student or RPE/C FY applicant.
