UHS of Delaware, Inc. is Hiring a Shift Manager Near PROVO, UT

Responsibilities

rovo Canyon School is one of the leading facilities in our field in the state of Utah. We are on the hunt to hire a talented Shift Manager to join our team at our Springville Campus. If you're excited to be part of a winning team, Provo Canyon School is a great place to grow your career.

Responsibilities for Shift Manager

  • Supervises and monitors all areas of the school
  • Responsible for security during duty shift
  • Takes necessary precautions to prevent runaways
  • Discusses possible security risks during shift change meetings
  • Frequently (at least hourly) checks with other staff on each unit to ensure that all patients are accounted for
  • Coordinate with all units on movement of patients
  • Responsible for the appearance of the units, common areas, and grounds during shift
  • Contacts the on-call Plant operations staff for urgent items requiring attention
  • Coordinates with kitchen supervisor to ensure meals run smoothly
  • Responsible for the coordination of visits on shift
  • Monitors scheduled departures and returns and reports deviations to the Program Director
  • Ensures that check-out and check-in procedures are strictly followed; luggage and personal belongings are secured before departure and following return; shift report portion of visit request form is completed and signed; a proper search is conducted of a patient's person as soon as he/she arrives and before he/she returns to his/her unit; visitors are debriefed before leaving.
  • Ensures that outings / activities occur as scheduled and are appropriately supervised
  • Ensures that school policies and procedures are strictly followed concerning Special Treatment Procedures and proper authorization is obtained for use of time-out or seclusion rooms
  • Responsible for the use and care of radios during duty shift
  • Conducts on-going and annual evaluations for staff
  • Identifies areas for further training and ensures that training is received
  • Attends weekly department manager's meeting and weekly program coordination meetings

Qualifications

  • One year of experience in office management preferred
  • Educational background in social work, psychology, or related fields helpful
  • Ability to maintain information as highly confidential
  • Telephone etiquette and customer service skills by phone and face-to-face
  • Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred
  • Skills in dealing courteously with the public and other staff within the school
  • Basic knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology useful
  • Use of appropriate social skills, including demonstration and respect for staff and patients
  • Willingness to be flexible during work hours in order to meet patient and school operating needs
  • Must maintain self-control in volatile or hostile situations
  • Must be able to work independently, with little supervision in an unstructured environment with multiple demands
  • Sound writing level that can clearly express or understand complex concepts, assessments, directions and processes or sequences of events
  • Asessment, planning, organizational, evaluative, and interpretive skills
  • Time management and interpersonal skills
  • Record keeping skills
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills
