Responsibilities

This opportunity is a PRN PACU RN OR position offering incredible work/life balance flexibility.

PRN SHIFT REQUIREMENTS: Variable shifts available (four, six, eight, ten or twelve hour shifts) 12 hour shifts are preferred. One weekday call per month.

WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS: Minimum one weekend call per month.

HOLIDAY REQUIREMENTS: One (1) major and one (1) minor Holiday per year.

COMPENSATION: $43.00

About Manatee Memorial Hospital (MMH):

Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, has served the citizens of Manatee, Sarasota and surrounding counties for 65 years. Part of the Manatee Healthcare System, the hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval. The 295-bed hospital with over 550 physicians, residents and allied health professionals, offers advanced healthcare services in a caring and compassionate environment. Services include cardiac care and cardiovascular medicine, emergency care for all ages, surgery services — including robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci® Surgical System, a weight–loss program, orthopedic services, outpatient and inpatient radiology and rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep, oncology, wound care and women’s and children’s services. Manatee Memorial Hospital offers a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for babies with special needs and has the only Pediatric Center in Manatee County.

Qualifications

Graduation from Accredited School of Nursing

Current RN licensure in Florida

Minimum 2 years PACU experience or experience in Critical Care (ICU, CCU, CVSICU) required.

BLS required

PALS required

ACLS required

NIH required

While practicing Service Excellence skills, the RN assumes the responsibility and accountability for providing safe and competent direct/indirect nursing care for post operative patients needs in accordance with Manatee Memorial Hospital policies, procedures, standards and philosophy and provides professional leadership and support to health team members. Ability to integrate nursing theory into practice using nursing process. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to problem solve and work effectively with patients, families, staff and physicians. Ability to plan and organize and work effectively in stressful situations. Ability to work independently and in teams. Good utilization of computer and other tools needed for job performance. Must be able to vary work schedule, Must be able to be on call.
