POSITION SUMMARY:
The Recreational Therapist is responsible for evaluating patient needs and formulating the initial and subsequent treatment programs in accordance with the attending physician’s/licensed practitioner’s treatment orders. This position administers the treatment program to patients to achieve the greatest benefit and resolution of symptoms through established therapeutic procedures, providing a high level of quality patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Minimum of Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school preferred.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years experience in a Mental Health setting.
Licensure: Indiana Healthcare Association Activities Director’s basic course. Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist Certification (CTRS) required.
Additional Requirements: Thorough knowledge of TJC, HCFA, OSHA regulations and state and federal regulatory standards. CPR certification.
