Responsibilities

Job Summary:

 

Process orders for parenteral and enteral medications, and other pharmaceuticals as needed for optimal patient care according to standards and practices for patients in all age groups including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.  Promote safe, cost-effective, rational drug use and provides expert pharmaceutical information to other health colleagues.  Supports the mission and core values of the company through responsible and effective work performance.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Pharmacy. Pharm D preferred.
  • Five (5) years progressively responsible experience performing pharmacy functions in an acute care setting.
  • Ability to serve as a lead worker to subordinate personnel.
  • ACLS certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
  • Continued employment is contingent on successfully maintaining current required certification(s) and/orlicense(s).
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of Clinical Pharmacy including drug therapy monitoring, drug information, drug utilization review, pharmacokinetics, nutritional support, adverse drugreaction monitoring and cardiopulmonary arrest.
  • Skill in prescribing trends, new drugs and developments.
  • Ability to give directions to and gain compliance from assigned staff.
