Responsibilities

Friends Hospital is the nation's oldest private psychiatric hospital, located on a beautiful 100-acre campus in Philadelphia, PA. Friends Hospital offers a continuum of care including level of care assessments; specially designed inpatient units for adolescents, adults, and older adults; and a private residential rehabilitation program. The Peer Support Specialist: performs duties and responsibilities as required in the delivery of patient care services on a patient unit under the supervision of the professional nurse; provides peer support services; serves as an advocate; provides information and peer support for patients in an inpatient setting; contributes to the development and implementation of treatment plans as determined by the treatment team; participates in Performance Improvement and in-service education; supports development, customer service and community relations activities.

As the Patient Service Coordinator (PSC), employee will be responsible for coordinating group supplies, certain aspects of therapy, and leisure material. PSC will be responsible for daily rounding to ensure all units are in compliance with active therapy and supervision of the milieu.

Qualifications

Graduate of accredited High School. 1-2 years’ experience in health care or mental health care setting preferred. Certified Peer Specialist through the Department of Behavioral Health.
