Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for doing History & Physical examinations of adult and adolescents. Services include but are not limited to history & physical examinations for patients; the nurse practitioner also does medical consults as ordered by the attending psychiatrist for medical problems which develop during the period of hospitalization. The nurse practitioner reports to the medical director or chief executive officer as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Minimum Education Requirement: Masters of Science in Nursing Degree required

Licensure: Current licensure for unrestricted practice of medicine by the State of Indiana. Must possess current, unrestricted Indiana DPS and U.S. DEA certification. Current Indiana NP license with renewal required. CPR certification.

Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical experience required. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Hours of Work: Determined by the Medical Director according to the needs of the facility.
