Responsibilities

Brentwood Hospital is looking for a dynamic Milieu Specialist! If you have a desire to work in an engaging environment with a team of professionals dedicated to providing help and hope to individuals and families for the achievement of improving their mental health. The Milieu Specialist is responsible for ensuring that active treatment, by way of proactive milieu structure, is occurring throughout the hospital environment. Milieu management includes program content and philosophy, patient management training, environmental management, and staff competency.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversees all unit Milieu to ensure safe and therapeutic
  • Makes purposeful rounds to all units daily to ensure open communication and MHT’s are performing as expected
  • Provides continual supervision, safety, crisis management, and therapeutic interventions. Assists with implementing the program structure and the safe delivery of care to promote wellness of the individual patient/resident/student
  • Will perform coaching and training of mental health specialist as the need arises. Also, will be involved with recruiting mental health tech vacancies to include screening applications, scheduling interviews, and interviewing candidates as assigned by the Milieu Manager

    Qualifications

    • Education/Experience: Graduated from an accredited 4-year college or university with a focus in psychology, social services, child development, public health, or other closely related field is preferred; Experience working in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in milieu management.
    • Hours: Determined by the Chief Nursing Officer
