UHS of Delaware, Inc. is Hiring a LVN Near SAN MARCOS, TX

Responsibilities

San Marcos Treatment Center, a 212-bed, seclusion free, psychiatric residential treatment facility located between Austin and San Antonio in the heart of Central Texas! San Marcos spreads across 65-acres with an abundance of trees and wildlife. We have 13 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development levels with two swimming pools, two gymnasiums, sports court, playing fields, ropes course, canteen, social area, and a healing trail. We provide 24-hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 6 to 17 with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning.

Our PRN LVNposition is under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and supervised by a Registered Nurse, administers medication as prescribed, implements patients’ treatment plans, evaluates patient’s response to treatment, provides complete and accurate documentation, and provides health care education for patients and families. The LVN is the shift supervisor of the Mental Health Techs and ensures that the environment is safe and therapeutic for all patients. Provide direct patient care and management of children, adolescent, and young adult patients as prescribed by the physician and treatment team. Assure safety, supervision, and crisis management for patient populations. Provide assessment and medical management of patients. Assist in the management of a therapeutic milieu.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. One year psychiatric / neuropsychiatric experience with adolescents and / or young adults in a long term hospital or residential setting preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current Texas professional Nurse License and current driver license.

Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information. Demonstrates effective organization. Develops and implements patient care services within discipline. Must consistently exhibit mental ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to initiate and implement all phases of the nursing process; ability to provide safe nursing care; understanding patient rights; basic supervisory skills.

COVID Vaccination: Must be COVID Vaccinated. Will be required to provide proof if job offer is made.
