Since 2001, Spring Mountain has provided acute crisis stabilization and outpatient services to the Las Vegas community and beyond. We offer a caring and healthy environment, with 24-hour care that allows individuals to make positive changes in their lives. In addition to crisis stabilization for patients as young as age 5, we offer treatment and detox for co-occurring substance abuse issues in teens and adults. Spring Mountain Behavioral Services has two locations to serve the diverse community of Las Vegas, Nevada.  With Spring Mountain Treatment Center and Spring Mountain Sahara, we have a wealth of resources to provide targeted care to children, adolescents and adults in the fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada Metropolitan area.

Spring Mountain Treatment Center is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a Unit Coordinator Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

The  LPN at the Facility manages the clerical functions of the nursing unit necessary to provide patient care.

The UC LPN is responsible for the implementation of physician's orders, as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Nursing Manager, demonstrates leadership qualities and within the boundaries of their professional license.

RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE:

  • The LPN performs under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) in providing nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing basic understanding of Mental Health conditions.
  • Inventories unit stock ensuring availability of proper supplies (Lab supplies, forms, patient hygiene care supplies, etc.)
  • Maintains safe environment and appropriate boundaries with clients and staff.
  • Files reports and test results in a timely manner.

  • Provides role modeling of appropriate behavior to clients for effective responsible citizenship and conflict resolution.
  • Initiate chart forms for patient admissions,transfers, and discharges. 

  • Teaches appropriate social skills, communication skills, and relationship building skills.
  • Schedules patients’ appointments and pre-registers patients for existing appointments.

  • Assists the admission department, when needed, with answering the telephone using the appropriate greeting and attempts to obtain all pertinent clinical, demographic and insurance information.

  • Monitors and evaluates patient participation in client treatment activities.
  • Assists in providing therapeutic and/or recreational activities.
  • Provides structure and direction for educational groups for Life skills.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and stand for long periods of time.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited professional vocational school of nursing.

Minimum one (1) year as a LPN/LVN in psychiatric nursing preferred.

Licensed to practice vocational/practical nursing (LPN) from the State Board of Nursing.

Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.

CPR certification and successful completion of Handle With Care training; including restraint and seclusion policies.

Work is of medium demand both physically and mentally; heavy walking and standing while on duty. Knowledge of patient care practices and procedures; knowledge of department and personnel policies. Skill in oral and written communication; ability to plan, organize and conduct patient care processes in a timely manner.
