Provide direct patient care and management of children, adolescent, and young adult patients as prescribed by the physician and treatment team. Assure safety, supervision, and crisis management for patient populations. Provide assessment and medical management of patients under the supervision and direction of an RN. Assist in the management of a therapeutic milieu.
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. One year psychiatric / neuropsychiatric experience with adolescents and / or young adults in a long term hospital or residential setting preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Current Texas professional Nurse License and current driver license.
Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information. Demonstrates effective organization. Develops and implements patient care services within discipline. Must consistently exhibit mental ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to initiate and implement all phases of the nursing process; ability to provide safe nursing care; understanding patient rights; basic supervisory skills.
