UHS of Delaware, Inc. is Hiring a LICENSING SPECIALIST Near BIRMINGHAM, AL

Responsibilities

The Licensing Specialist plays a pivotal role in serving children and families in need through the Foster Care program of the Alabama Clinical Schools Specialized Treatment Programs. The Licensing Specialist will coordinate care and development for foster homes by recruiting, licensing, re-licensing of foster parents and provide on-going training and support.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

1.

Education:

A minimum of a Licensure Bachelor of Social Work (LBSW).

2.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years foster care experience.

3.

License/Certification:

Active Social work license. Valid state driver's license with appropriate endorsements.

4.

Skills:

Excellent communication skills, ability to maintain effective working relationships, inter-departmentally, intra-departmentally, and with the clinical staff. Demonstrates the ability to organize, delegate and role model manage the Clinical Services Team. Must have ability to communicate in both oral and written form and in a clean and concise manner.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distant, and peripheral vision, color and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee may occasionally be required to physically restrain clients, using authorized restraint procedures as a last resort for protection of client and staff.

Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve non-routine and complex office administrative problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks; work under intensive deadlines with frequent interruptions; and interact with City managers, staff, customers, the public and others encountered in the course of work, some of whom may be dissatisfied or abusive individuals.

Other:

Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Foster Care Director and Director of Clinical Services.
