The Sierra Vista Hospital location, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility located in south Sacramento, is a full-service mental health facility and a center of support for patients and their families. Since 1986, we have offered our clinical expertise to those suffering from emotional, behavioral and addiction problems.
This position is offering a competitive salary and $2,000.00 sign-on bonus.
POSITION SUMMARY
The LVN performs under the direction of a Registered Nurse in providing nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing basic understanding of psychiatric and personality disorders.
Current Openings: full-time (5 days per week); part-time (3 days per week); per-diem
Shift Availabilities: AM (0700-1530); PM (1530-2330); NOC (2300-0730)
FLSA Status: non-exempt
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate from an accredited professional vocational school of nursing as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or vocational training as a Psychiatric Technician.
Experience: Minimum one (1) year as a LVN/LPT in psychiatric nursing preferred. New grads welcome
Licensure: Licensed to practice vocational nursing from the State Board of Nursing or Psychiatric Technicians. Valid driver’s license preferred.
Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification, and successful completion of the hospital’s designated behavioral and physical management training program, including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint required prior to assisting in the procedures. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
