Responsibilities

Parkwood Behavioral Health System (a UHS facility):

Parkwood Behavioral Health System provides behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region and has been in business since 1987. We are located in Desoto County, in the northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis.

We offer a full continuum of care that provides treatment options to meet the individual needs of adults, adolescents and children. Parkwood Behavioral Health System includes a 148-bed inpatient acute and residential care facility, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.

Licensed Practical Nurse

  • Status: Full-time
  • Hours/Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.)
    • Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood Behavioral Health. The Licensed Practical Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit. The Licensed Practical Nurse also may assume Charge Nurse Responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

Education:

Graduate of an accredited licensed practical nursing program.

Experience:

One (1) year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing preferred.

Licensure:

Licensure and registration by the Mississippi Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse, or multi-state license as approved by NCSBN.

Knowledge:

Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and developoment, limit setting, crisis and behavioral managemnet and CPR training.
