Anchor Hospital is seeking dynamic and talented Intake Counselors- FT

Established in 1986, Anchor Hospital specializes in the treatment of behavioral health and addictive disease disorders for teens, adults and seniors. Our mental health facility in Atlanta, Georgia is located on a secluded, 55-acre campus, less than three miles from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and is accredited by the Joint Commission. Our continuum of services includes a 24/7 free, confidential psychiatric assessment by Georgia behavioral health professionals. Anchor Hospital is a proud supporter of the National Action Alliance on Suicide Prevention. We provide Georgia behavioral health education and resources to help improve the communities we serve.

Anchor Hospital is looking for an Intake Counselor, whose responsibilities include assessment of psychiatric and medical risks/needs of those who present for care; provision of treatment recommendation, immediate patient/client disposition, arranging hospital transfer/discharge, making outpatient referrals, and/or making connections to other community agencies and resources. The position also requires, internal marketing, effective communication with physicians, efficient communication with referral sources, and overall excellent service to patients and other callers/visitors. Other responsibilities include being able to perform all aspects of the hospital’s assessment and referral process, including efficient and effective management of crisis calls and other telephone inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy is required OR License as a registered nurseMinimum of one (1) year of experience in a hospital setting is preferred.Associate Licensure (LAPC, LMSW, and LAMFT) or full licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) preferred, OR Licensure as an RN in Georgia required without a Master’s.
  •  Candidates must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Candidates must also have working knowledge of DSM-5/ICD10, and working knowledge of 1013 process.
  •  Requires extensive time sitting, writing, and talking on telephone. Must be able to assist in physical crisis intervention when necessary.
