Responsibilities

Reporting to the Program Director, the Charge Nurse - Intake has the accountability for the intake assessment, screening anddisposition/referral of patients referred. Utilizes specialized knowledge and skills on the application of nursing process skills to deliver qualitycare to adults and geriatric clients. Prepares reports as requested. Provides relief and coverage to perform intake assessments for the inpatientBehavioral Health Unit, provides break relief coverage for the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit as needed.

Qualifications

Current California RN license required.1 year experience in acute care psychiatric nursing required.Psychiatric nursing experience with excellent assessment skills.Excellent understanding of HMO, PPO, Medicare & Medi-Cal; pre-authorization/pre-certification process, reimbursement and payor criteria.Knowledge of Patient RightsCurrent BLS (CPR) certificate required.Assaultive Behavior Management Training required within 90 days of date of hire.LPS 5150 certification in Riverside County within 60 days of hire.
