Responsibilities

The Psychiatric Institute of Washington is a 130-bed facility with inpatient, outpatient and partial hospitalization programs. BASIC FUNCTION:

Administer the Infection Control Program as it applies to patients, employees, and visitors to the hospital. Provides for employee safety and well-being. To require at least 10 hours per week of the employee’s time. The remaining time will be served as a staff educator in the education department.

Qualifications

  • Current license to practice nursing in District of Columbia (or eligible to receive or renew)
  • Documented evidence of Infection Control training. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Certification in Infection Control, Occupational Health, or Case Management is preferred.
  • Previous psychiatric, behavioral, or mental health nursing experience is helpful but not required.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.
  • ANA Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing certification preferred.
  • Candidates must meet the company’s hiring criteria to include a pre-employment verifications, background investigation and drug test.
