Saint Simons By-The-Sea is currently recruiting for a Housekeeping Supervisor. This position is a working supervisory position that is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facility, daily upkeep of public areas, and supervision of the Housekeeping Department. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Other responsibilities inlcude, but are not limited too:

• Interviews and hires staff for the department, maintaining an adequate number of people who meet the department’s needs.
• Maintains budget for supplies and meets budget goals.
• Completes biohazardous waste training and discard biohazardous waste, when needed.
• Completes daily rounds of the facility to ensure that areas needing attention are cared for by the assigned staff.Coaches and counsels employees and give corrective action, when needed.
• Completes initial and annual performance appraisals in a timely manner, addressing strengths and weaknesses.
• Trains new housekeeping staff to perform their duties outlined on their job description.
• Assists with removing trash and waste from designated areas of facility.
• Assists with maintaining a neat and orderly cart and housekeeping office.

Qualifications

Education and experience equivalent to a High School Diploma/GED required.

Must have prior housekeeping experience, preferably in healthcare setting.

Must have supervisory experience.
