UHS of Delaware, Inc. is Hiring a HOUSE SUPV (RN) Near NEW KENT, VA

Responsibilities

Position Purpose:

Provides hospital wide administrative presence on shifts providing supervision of patient and staff activities and ensuring quality and appropriateness of care. Provides leadership role modeling for assigned units and staff. Provides direct patient care, medical management, assessment, and crisis management for the patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Provides management and supervision to nursing staff, maintains a safetherapeutic environment for patients/residents.
  •  Ensures quality of patient/resident care and documentation to comply with licensing,regulatory, and accrediting agencies.
  •  Serves as administrative presence during alternative shifts providing liaison activities and communicates with department managers as necessary to ensure consistency inmaintaining hospital standards.
  •  Directs and manages interdisciplinary treatment team on unit to ensure participation in the provision of patient/resident care.
  •  Coordinates activities in emergency or unusual circumstances assuring continuity and appropriate functioning of operations.
  •  Fulfills responsibilities to the hospital in adherence to philosophy and general policy.
  •  Works collaboratively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.
  •  Establishes, manages and monitors safety standards, processes, communications, training and systems for employees.

Qualifications

Education:

BSN in Nursing preferred

Licensure/Certification:

Currently registered in the State of Virginia with Board of Nursing.

Maintain current CPI (bi-annually), CPR (BLS Provider annually) First Aid (two years) Certifications. In order to operate Cumberland’s vehicles, a current Virginia driver’s license with a good driving record (minimum of 1 points) is required.

Experience:

Prefer minimum of four years nursing experience in rehab or psych facility with at least one year supervisory experience.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; 80-90% of the time, the incumbent is standing, walking, kneeling, reaching while working with patients; Requires full range of body motion including handling and physical restraint of patients.
