Qualifications

We train you to be the best, but there are a few minimum requirements for this position:

  • Previous Health Information Management or related experience required;
  • Typing, transcription, filing and record-keeping and record-coding skills highly preferred;
  • Work organization, prioritization, and time management skills required;
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills highly preferred;
  • Minimum of high school level reading and writing highly preferred;
  • Familiar with general medical terminology needed with specific familiarity with psychiatric terminology helpful;
  • Experience with ICD- 10-CM procedures and use of DSM IV coding procedures highly desirable;
  • General clerical and office procedure skills; business correspondence and communication skills;
  • Skills in proper use of office equipment; experience in psychiatric facility helpful.
