Reporting to the director of Dietary services.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

Ability to understand modified diet restrictions, operate food service equipment, operate computer hardware and software systems and perform simple math.

Be knowledgeable of daily kitchen operations, safe food handling techniques and sanitary food preparation skills.

Ability to instruct and supervise the work performance of others.

Ability to make decisions and to adapt to changes.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

At least two years food service experience in an acute care facility preferred.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

DSS certification or Diet Tech certification preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS

Maintains certification in Food Service Sanitation by the Department of Health and/or ServSafe Certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works in a clean, well-lighted, well-ventilated work environment.
