Anchor Hospital is seeking a Dynamic and Talented Director for our PHP Outpatient Services

Established in 1986, Anchor Hospital specializes in the treatment of behavioral health and addictive disease disorders for teens, adults and seniors. Our mental health facility in Atlanta, Georgia is located on a secluded, 55-acre campus, less than three miles from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and is accredited by the Joint Commission. Our continuum of services includes a 24/7 free, confidential psychiatric assessment by Georgia behavioral health professionals. The Director of Outpatient Services oversees the Partial Hospital Program (PHP) services. They will increase physician and staff awareness of PHP appropriateness for patients discharging from in-patient level of care, and responsible for the development and implementation of clinically sound programs. The Director of Outpatient Services will educate prospective clients/families on program goals and benefits, as well as ensure facility compliance with all state and county regulations, Joint Commission and CMS regulations. Accountable for leadership and strategic management of the Outpatient Services program, in collaboration with the Medical Director and the clinical staff, this position assesses, develops, implements and evaluates program philosophy, goals, objectives, and treatment interventions. This position provides the leadership necessary for successful program development and maintenance through appropriate, organized, and program focused referral development activities. The support includes but is not limited to: administrative functions such as marketing, program development, quality initiatives, clinical supervision, knowledge of regulatory requirements and providing direct patient care (facilitates groups, completes assessments, etc).

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) makes routine employment decisions and supervises, coordinates, and evaluates the work of professional and non-professional clinical personnel.
  • Under the supervision of the CEO, schedules and assigns staff according to patient needs; guides and advises subordinates as necessary.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Business Development (DBD) and develops marketing plans for the outpatient programs.
  • Assists in operating the department within defined limitations; reports and exhibits variances.
  • Coordinates unit activities with medical Staff and other departments of the Hospital.
  • Maintains optimal standards of clinical care and constantly evaluates results.
  • Assists and maintains performance improvement program.
  • Provides clinical and administrative leadership.
  • Interacts with and assists in teaching staff.
  • Assumes responsibility for professional development and ongoing education.
  • Serves as a clinical resource person to staff members in their daily activities.
  • Complete psychosocial assessments.
  • Provide group therapy or co-lead groups.
  • Provide individual/family therapy sessions and crisis intervention.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of clinical information to HMO/Insurance providers.
  • Provide social work consultations to physicians, nurses, other hospital staff members, patients, patient’s relatives and coordinate with community agencies as appropriate.
  • Provides case management services to patients in PHP/IOP.
  • Provides discharge planning services to PHP/IOP patients as needed.
  • Attend appropriate meetings, workshops, and in-house trainings to maintain clinical skills and keep informed of community resources available.
  • Respond to calls and requests made by hospital physicians, intake and assessment personnel, nurses and other staff as needed.
  • Promotes safety by attending mandatory in-services and complies with all safety measures initiated by the facility
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • M.S. or M.A. in Social Work or related field with previous placement or internship in a psychiatric setting required. Prior experience providing case management services, discharge planning, group therapy and conducting psychosocial evaluations preferred.
  • Knowledge of PHP and/or inpatient psychiatric policies and procedures, with Two years of hospital and management experience.
  • LPC, LMFT, or LCSW Required

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Must have knowledge of local community resources and services required.
  • Must be able to make sound, independent judgments based on scientific and/or ethical principles.
  • Must be able to collaborate with other multidisciplinary team members in an appropriate fashion.
  • Must be capable of adapting to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis.
