Our team of professionals includes board-certified child/adolescent and adult psychiatrists, licensed clinical therapists, nurses and mental health associates who are here to help people reconnect with their families, friends and employers so that they may lead productive lives. Using discretion and independent judgment the Clinical Dietitian will plan, organize, direct, and evaluate all phases of patient nutritional care, including patient dietary therapy and education. Performs nutritional assessments, makes dietary recommendations, contributes inpatient/family conferences and team meetings. Provides patient counseling and education and provides discharge diets when necessary. May assist with inservice training for food service personnel as well as other patient care personnel. Implements nutritional therapy orders and verifies implementation of orders.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Total education, vocational training, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with major studies in food and nutrition.
  • Minimum one year of work experience in a facility setting with clinical responsibilities preferred. 
  • CPR and CPI qualified or complete training within two (2) weeks of date of hire.

Licenses or Certifications: 

  • Registered member of the American Dietetic Association.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, and a variety of adult populations.
  • Timely, thorough, and accurate interpretation of patient related information as related to functional performance.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills are required to communicate and interact with patients, families, physicians, hospital staff, and the public.
  • Thorough understanding of a willingness to work within established practice standards and licensing limitations.
  • Clear, concise, and timely documentation skills.
  • Stable emotional makeup to work with patients, families, physicians, and staff. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
