Charge Nurse (RN) Opportunity

West Oaks Hospital has provided psychiatric care to the Houston area and surrounding communities for over three decades. Our 176-bed acute care facility is fully accredited and included a 16-bed residential treatment center for adult chemical dependency.

We offer a broad range of behavioral health programs for children, adolescents and adults. Treatment is offered at multiple levels of care including inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient.

We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist you and answer your questions about treatment options and insurance coverage. The hospital is easily accessible off the Southwest Freeway near the Galleria.

West Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Charge Nurse (RN) to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals. The Charge Nurse (RN) will oversee assigned unit/department for assigned shift and provide direct patient care under the direction of the Assistant Director of Nursing. The Charge Nurse (RN) will be responsible for using the Nursing process to effectively manage the Plan of Care for each patient based on appropriate standards, policies and procedures. Management of each patient also includes appropriately and effectively delegating patient care duties to other members of the nursing team in order to assure optimal patient outcomes. The Charge Nurse (RN) will also responsible for continuing his/her own professional development to enhance practice and the profession of Nursing. Charge Nurse (RN) will actively participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team of the unit and perform duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Education Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing either through ADN, Diploma or BSN Program.
  • Licensure and certification Required: Current Texas State Registered Nurse licensure. CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications.
  • Experience Required: Three years of inpatient psychiatric nursing and/or medical/surgical experience to include supervisory experience.
