Established in 1986, Anchor Hospital specializes in the treatment of behavioral health and addictive disease disorders for teens, adults and seniors. Our mental health facility in Atlanta, Georgia is located on a secluded, 55-acre campus, less than three miles from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and is accredited by the Joint Commission. Our continuum of services includes a 24/7 free, confidential psychiatric assessment by Georgia behavioral health professionals. Anchor Hospital is a proud supporter of the National Action Alliance on Suicide Prevention. We provide Georgia behavioral health education and resources to help improve the communities we serve. In addition to a geriatric unit, a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility also offers services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit.
Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Admissions assists the Director of Admissions with the administrative oversight and direction of the hospital’s Admissions Department. This position provides supervision to a staff of specialists in the provision of patient access to care and behavioral health assessment services, including call management, clinical evaluations for level of care, crisis intervention, admissions and referrals. This position interfaces closely with the hospital’s medical staff, nursing staff, department leaders, and administration, as well as external referring agencies and payers. The Assistant Admissions Director is responsible assisting with departmental adherence to policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and data entry/management. In addition, the Assistant Admissions Director assists in the development and management of processes related to efficient and smooth admission processes. The Assistant Admissions Director reports directly to the Director of Admissions and will assist in interviewing/hiring new staff, staff supervision, clinical case consultation, coordination and organization of day-to-day activities that will enhance effectiveness of the Admissions Department and security to ensure smooth admissions processing for referral sources, families, staff and patients.
