The Admissions Specialist is responsible for the coordination of the admission of clients to the Institute. The Admissions Specialist provides face-to-face assessment and crisis intervention, schedules appointments for potential admissions, directs the intake and admission process at the treatment sites, confirms appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process and coordinates communication with referral sources, families, clients and designated treatment staff at the program. The Admission Specialist will also be cross-trained to perform Detox Support Specialist (DSS) duties. Job responsibilities include scheduling of admissions, assessment of potential clients, completion of admission paperwork, referral relations, interdepartmental relations, documentation and data entry of all inquiry calls, and excellence in customer service. DSS duties as needed.
This is a full-time, 36-hr position (3-12 hour shifts per week). Must be able to work weekend and holiday rotation.

Qualifications:Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health and/or chemical dependency population, preferably in a day treatment, residential, or inpatient setting a plus. Knowledge of insurance plans and mental health and chemical dependency treatment coverage preferred. Experience with computer data entry preferred. Prefer knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, chemical dependency diagnoses and symptomology, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.
