Position Summary Highlights

  • Provides effective leadership within the Admissions Department and the ability to organize Admission staff to effectively and timely serve patients, families, referral sources through the referral and admission process.
  • Supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees as well as appraising performance, disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  • Accountable for management of the department, providing training and supervision for Intake staff, crisis intervention, and responding to referrals appropriately.
  • Interfaces closely with both internal hospital staff, facility physicians, as well as external referrals including hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources.
  • Administrative duties including completing staffing schedules, reports, quality improvement, and assuring compliance with all policy and procedures and applicable mental health laws, codes, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications

Education:

Master’s Degree in Human Service field (e.g. Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, etc.); or RN preferably BSN.

Experience:

3 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field. Supervisor experience preferred.

License / Certification:

Licensed RN, LCSW, LPC, LMFT preferred. BLS / CPI certification.

Physical requirements:

Light Work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job is rated light work when it requires: (1) walking or standing to a significant degree; (2) sitting most of the time while pushing or pulling arm or leg controls; or (3) working at a production rate pace while constantly pushing or pulling materials even though the weight of the materials is negligible.
