About the Position: This position is responsible for crisis evaluations, preauthorization requests, and coordination of admissions to Cedar Springs. The position consists of answering phone calls, conducting mental health evaluations, evaluating for involuntary commitments, making clinical recommendations for optimal level of care referrals and community adjustment, coordinating with community providers and referral sources, and facilitating internal admissions to Cedar Springs programs. Needs to perform vitals, breathalyzer tests as well as temperature on each potential patient at time of evaluation. Must be willing to work various weekends.

Exemptions
Requirements: Requires analytical skills, high level clinical skills, and knowledge of mental health statutes, ethical and legal practice implications. Requires knowledge and understanding of EMTALA regulations and state requirements for involuntary commitments. Requires organizational, verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills, grammar and spelling, the ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, regulatory agencies, etc. using strong interpersonal communications skills. Ability to exercise professional independent judgment in planning own work, formulating recommendations and making decisions.
Education: Master's Degree or PhD in social work. Must have at least one year of experience with crisis work and mental health evaluations. Requires Colorado licensure in good standing meeting state requirements for enacting involuntary holds (e.g.: CSW, LPC, MFT) with two years of mental health experience.
