Responsibilities

Horizon Health seeks a PRN Therapist for a busy Gero-Psych Program in University Affiliated Community Hospital in Glendale, CA. The per diem Therapist is responsible for performing social service functions to include assisting clients in meeting their bio-psycho-social needs while enabling them through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, and specialized clinical social services for consumers receiving care. The per diem therapist will provide crisis intervention, group therapy, treatment planning and discharge planning. The therapist serves as an integral member of the treatment team and is also responsible for case management of consumer’s internal/external support systems and responding effectively to requests for information on a wide range of human service needs. Must be able to effectively work with geriatric patients and demonstrate an understanding of normal growth and development as well as developmental stages and must possess knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: A minimum of two (2) years experience in a behavioral health care program, with direct experience in group therapies, crisis intervention and treatment skills is preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: LCSW, LPC, LMFT is required.
