The Position…

The QC Inspector is involved throughout the entire production process from pre-job document review, first article inspection, in-process inspections to final inspection. The position is responsible for hands-on inspection of all projects being constructed in the shop and field, as well as, completing, reviewing, and maintaining quality control related documentation (IE: inspection reporting, code interpretations, procedure writing, training, etc.).

What You Will Do…

• Ensure items are acceptable per all applicable construction codes (IE: ASME, AWS, API, NEC, etc.)
• Perform all work with a strong commitment to safety and quality, whether onsite in our Production shop, or offsite at customer and supplier locations
• Perform visual inspections of all projects being built in our facility
• Perform dimensional inspections (IE: fit-up piping, fit-up vessels, customer connections, etc.)
• Ability to accurately read, interpret and follow construction codes for pressure vessels, pressure piping and skid fabrication.
• Ensure employees and suppliers follow code requirements
• Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, project requirements, and all other quality related documentation
• Train and monitor employees for proficiency to company policies, procedures, and industry standards
• Must be a good communicator. Able to give specific quality direction in an efficient and effective way to the workforce.
• Liaises with other departments to ensure the optimum quality is produced every time
• Monitor Welder Performance and Qualifications
• Read, write, follow, and develop company processes procedures
• Maintain accurate and up to date records of all inspections
• Manage NDE (Non Destructive Examination) contractors; schedule work and review NDE records for accuracy
• Document NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), monitor and close NCRs in a timely manner
• Inspect incoming materials
• Work with/escort visiting customers and inspectors on relevant projects
• Complete training as required

The Essentials…

• Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or VT Level II certification required
• Required to pass visual acuity test annually
• 5 years of experience in welding inspection preferred
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word highly preferred
• Advanced proficiency with precision measuring tools (tape measurer, caliper, micrometer, etc.)
• A valid driver’s license with a good motor vehicle record is required
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Able to work a flexible schedule from time to time, that includes overtime and travel
• Proficient and knowledgeable in pipe fitting and ASME pressure vessel assembly preferred
• Extensive weld process and procedure knowledge with GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW and SMAW 

Work Environment....

This job operates in a production facility and outside supplier locations with occasional field work required.

Travel...

Up to 20% locally, nationally and internationally (therefore must either have or be able to get a passport)
