The Electrician is responsible for directing, coordinating, and performing the installation of various electrical equipment on components for custom engineered compressor systems. The Electrician is a “working” role and is responsible for self and team productivity daily and constantly looks for efficiency improvements in all areas of compressor builds.

Essential Functions

• Provide support and direction to ensure that jobs meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery requirements by planning ahead on a daily basis to ensure staffing, parts and tools are in place.
• Collaborate with Lead, Fabrication in assigning qualified people to specific tasks in order to maintain the schedule.
• Review prints and ensure that units are built correctly and in accordance with requirements. 
• Actively utilize industrial electrical knowledge to perform varying tasks in accordance with customer specifications on a diverse array of compressors.
• Responsible for keeping own assigned workstations clean and organized.
• Personally, acts and influences employees with a sense of urgency without sacrificing a strong, personal commitment to the safety culture.
• Immediately informs Manager, Production of any schedule, personnel, or basic work issues.
• Interface with engineers and production foreman when there are engineering concerns ASAP.
• Identify training needs for electricians. Provide proper training to employees and proper direction on how to complete a task where there may be a struggle.
• Take disciplinary actions when employees violate company policy. Partner with HR and the production foreman for write-ups.
• Be aware of employee attendance/tardiness, break returns and unscheduled time away from the shop floor and notify shop foreman when issues are apparent.
• Monitor production schedule, NCRs, and other documentation on a daily basis.

• Plans and performs jobs of installing and maintaining a variety of electrical equipment such as control panels, switchboards, junction boxes, switches, etc.
• Connects and disconnects electric powered machines.
• Diagnoses electrical trouble.
• Ability to create and work from wiring diagrams. Planning may involve determination of method and sequence of operation and selection of materials to be used.
• Be able to read and interpret all electrical schematics and technical manuals.
• Knowledgeable of electrical nominal voltages of 24VDC, 110VAC through 480VAC 3 phase.
• Installation of rigid conduit and wire in a neat correct manner and to NEC code.
• Basic troubleshooting of Motor Control Centers and effective motor maintenance.
• Order and maintain electrical parts.

Qualifications:

• Required Electricians License, Master, Journeyman or Apprentice 
• 3 years’ experience with an Electrical crew
• 5 years of job experience
• Familiar with Class 1 Div. 1 and Class 1 Div. 2 electrical requirements
• Oil and gas experience preferred
• Logic controls experience is a plus
