UDA is Hiring a Quality Assurance Supervisor Near Tempe, AZ

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Quality Assurance Supervisor will work closely with production to ensure the highest level of food safety and quality is maintained throughout the process from raw product receiving to finished product packaging. The QA Supervisor must have working knowledge of HACCP and all SOP’s, additionally they will work with all operators to ensure compliance with all SOP’s. The QA Supervisor will be responsible for product quality surveillance of manufacturing areas with possible HACCP monitoring, conduct periodic facility inspections and may perform daily bacteriological environmental inspections in critical plant areas. Will coordinate with production in the monitoring of packaging lines for effective control of CP’s and CCP’s and product/package integrity. The QA Supervisor will work closely with the Sanitation Team in order to validate sanitation effectiveness and environmental monitoring. They will assist with all new hire training in regards to GMP’s and Food Safety awareness. Additionally they will assist the SQF Manager; V.P. of Quality Assurance and Food Safety with all Regulatory and Customer audits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks and projects with timelines to complete.
  • Regularly inspect production lines to identify and resolve any quality issues.
  • Ability to lead multiple business initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, MP2, and Reliance EtQ.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Strong knowledge of good manufacturing practices.
  • Requires ability to read, hear, speak, and comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in a leadership position.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with dairy and/or foods processing.

Education/Certifications:

  • High School Diploma, or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in an applicable science discipline or Equivalent Experience
  • HACCP Certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Requires ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift and carry items up to 55lbs.
  • Requires ability to climb ladders and stairs of varying heights.
  • Requires ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings.
  • Requires ability to work in varying temperatures including hot working conditions.
  • Requires ability to hear and speak.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will conduct Root Cause Analyses to identify and understand product quality defects and failures in the product process.
  • If they identify a deficiency in Food Safety and/or Quality, they are responsible for taking corrective action and reporting the issue to their direct supervisor.
  • Regularly inspect production lines to identify and resolve any quality issues.
  • Develop procedures and mentor staff to ensure their optimal effectiveness.
  • Keep accurate and legible records.
  • Adhere to all UDA quality policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity
  • Adhere to all UDA safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity
  • Adhere to all UDA GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity
  • Other duties as assigned
