UCLA is Hiring a Systems Analyst Near Los Angeles, CA
The Systems Analyst provides support and administration for both cloud and on-premises applications and systems for over 1,000 faculty, staff and graduate students in the Humanities Division. As a member of the infrastructure team, works with Humanities faculty and staff and with campus IT partners to provision access, and to maintain, install, or configure services critical to teaching, research and academic work in the Humanities. The Systems Analyst contributes to ensuring the uptime, performance, and security of Humanities infrastructure by regularly monitoring key metrics, logs, and alerts. May also contribute to campus or divisional projects and deployments. Participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation, serves as primary support contact for infrastructure related issues, and as escalation point on computing support tasks requiring systems-related work.

Required/Preferred
Demonstrated experience using issue-tracking and project management systems in a team support and service environment.
Required
Working knowledge of internet protocols and services including but not limited to SMTP, POP, IMAP, FTP, SSH, HTTP, SSL, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, NFS and SMB.
Required
Demonstrated ability to perform system analysis and operational tasks in a distributed, networked, multi-vendor computing environment with varied operating systems (Unix, OS X and Microsoft Enterprise Server), computer hardware, and network technologies.
Required
Working knowledge of cloud-based application infrastructure leveraging IAAS, SAAS, and other cloud services including serverless compute, VPCs, ACLs, firewalls, DNS, Backups, and disaster recovery plans.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Enterprise technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory

Familiarity with automation and scripting in any of various programming languages/tools (e.g., bash, python, Ansible, PHP) to support systems operations.

Proficiency in hosting and administering CMS websites using a hosting platform such as cPanel.

Experience independently managing and triaging multiple user support issues while maintaining responsive follow through with internal and external partners to meet SLAs.
