What are the responsibilities and job description for the Statistician position at UCLA?
The statistician will work in center's statistical unit by performing programming, data management, and analyses for national, state and local administrative and survey datasets from different sources. He/she will use SAS, Stata, R, as well as other statistical software to perform data quality control and imputation, construct variables, and to create tables, and reports. He/she will be expected to develop programs and automation for implementation of statistical procedures.
He/she will also be responsible for developing, and maintaining database architecture, and applications using programming languages such as R Shiny, SQL, VBA and others. The statistician will help design new workflows to automate survey data development and dissemination.

Bachelors or higher degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related field with substantial statistical and programming training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated general programming skills.

Demonstrated expertise in the utilization of statistical software to automate and reproduce statistical work.
Required
Demonstrated ability to use PC-based computing systems in a network environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office software. Familiarity with the world-wide-web as an information resource.
