UCLA is Hiring an Executive Director of Summer Sessions Near Los Angeles, CA

The Executive Director of Summer Sessions is responsible for managing the administration and student services for Summer Sessions (including student affairs, program administration, long-range planning, academic planning) and financial and administrative oversight for the entire Summer Sessions/International Education Office (SSIE) organization, including revenue sharing, institutional research, human resources and academic personnel. In conjunction with the Assistant Dean, the Executive Director represents the interests and capabilities of the unit and related activity to the campus, the University of California, and national audiences. The Executive Director provides leadership and direction to the campus in the development and continual improvement of the curricular offerings coordinated by Summer Sessions. Responsibilities include program development and implementation; working with faculty and staff to plan and implement new curricular and programmatic initiatives; working with the departments Academic Planning and Budget, and others; supervising student services staff and ensuring quality student experience; collaborating with the marketing team on the development and editing of print and Web materials; working collaboratively with other campus entities and related program representatives; and facilitating communications between Summer Sessions and departments through regular interactions with departmental managers and advisers. The incumbent is charged with interacting with UCLA's institutional research units to better understand and deploy Summer Sessions in support of academic priorities such as relieving bottleneck courses and improving time-to-degree. As the Executive Director, oversee and coordinate the day-to-day and long-range planning or the financial and administrative operations of the organization, which is characterized by $52M in revenue, over 18,000 participating students, and 800 academic courses online and on campus. The Executive Director works collaboratively with the Assistant Dean on a with regard to the day-to-day operations of the entire unit, including matters of budget, personnel, and program development. Also, in conjunction with the Assistant Dean, the Executive Officer represents the interests and capabilities of the unit and related activity to the campus, the University of California, and other national and/or international audiences. The Executive Director exercises a broad latitude of autonomy, creativity, and judgment to implement creative solutions to address budget and resource management, enrollment management, risk management, and revenue generation; designs and implements unique financial infrastructures for new credit and non-credit bearing initiatives; assures compliance with university regulations; advises on all administrative matters; represents the organization in conferences and meetings.
