Job Duties:

Venice Family Clinic is a community health center whosemission is “To provide quality primary health care to people in need.” VeniceFamily Clinic cares for over 27,000 low-income patients in over 120,000 visitsannually who might otherwise go without critically needed health care services.Venice Family Clinic has fourteen locations with over 420 staff, 1,300volunteers, and a budget of $70 million. We provide high quality, comprehensiveprimary and specialty health care, dental, mental health, substance usetreatment and child development services to underserved individuals andfamilies on the Westside of Los Angeles.

The Grants Accountant willreport directly to the Controller and will oversee the Organization’saccounting for its portfolio of contracts and grants. The successful candidateis expected to understand and apply broad knowledge of various sponsoringagencies’ requirements as it relates to their day-to-day responsibilities. Theresponsibilities include the financial management of grants to ensurecompliance, maximization of expenses to the approved budget and timely billing andcollections of grants receivable. Thesuccessful candidate will utilize multiple systems to generate data, performanalysis and problem solve. The Grants Accountant will work closely with theSr. Grants Staff Accountant.

Job Qualifications:

• BA / BS with a concentration in Accounting or Business Administration - Strongly Preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a progressively responsible accounting role - Required.
• Healthcare experience, preferably in a Community Health Clinic - Strongly Preferred.
• Demonstrated work experience managing multiple government funded programs - Required.
• Fund or Not-for-Profit accounting experience - Required.
• Advanced Excel Skills including Pivot Tables, VLook-Up and Logic Functions - Required.
• Accounting Software such as Blackbaud Financial Edge, MIP (Abila), MAS 90, NetSuite or Oracle Accounting Software - Required.
• Accuracy/precision in math, strong analytical skills, organized, team player, must be able to meet deadlines while working independently - Required.
• Able to analyze and clearly communicate complex issues - Required.
• Pro-active and self-motivated - Required.
