This is a one-year contract appointment position with the possibility of additional year contract appointment extensions. Position Summary:
The Division of Finance and Administration (DFA) provides services and support to over 50,000 students, faculty, and staff with the mission of advancing UCI’s brilliant future and the vision of becoming world-class campus partners. DFA serves the university as planning partners, problem solvers, and solution providers—striving to make it as easy as possible for people to get the services they need, when they need them. Working closely with campus financial management, the UCI Controller’s Office is a trusted strategic partner divided into three core teams: Accounting & Fiscal Services, Procurement Services, and Financial Services. The Accounting & Fiscal Services team ensures the integrity of UCI's financial reporting, enables effective and efficient campus financial processes and controls, manages contracts and grants funding at the post-award stage, and champions compliance with policies, laws, and regulations. The Procurement Services team leads through best practices in the acquisition of quality goods and services by implementing processes and procedures that deliver high quality expertise, significant value, and excellent customer service. Finally, the Financial Services team provides support and resources to campus in the areas of billing, collections, payments, disbursements, loan administration, and student tax information. In all these areas, the Controller’s Office is always dedicated to providing effective and efficient customer service in support of UCI’s mission and goals.
Reporting to the Financial Management Support Manager for Accounting and Fiscal Services, this position will work with various campus systems to provide analysis, design specifications, training, and testing. This position will help support the University financial systems and applications (Kuali Financial System, IBM Cognos, Tableau, DWQuery, Blackline, and other Financial Applications). The analyst will also provide data analysis on financial reports to ensure accuracy and support business decisions. Serve as a liaison between stakeholders on campus, Division of Finance and Administration, and Office of Information Applies skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry-wide business process and analysis practices and organizational policies and procedures. Resolves a wide range of business process issues of moderate to complex scope. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions.

Required:
5-7 years of experience required for this job.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
Thorough Knowledge of related areas of IT, financial systems, data warehousing, and business intelligence.
Strong skills and knowledge of methodologies associated with analysis of processes and problems, information flow and architecture.
In-depth understanding and skill in process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.
Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem solving skills.
Broad knowledge relating to software design, data warehousing, and business intelligence.
Thorough knowledge of business processes and procedures.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Interpersonal and communications skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Basic knowledge of finance and accounting systems and concepts.
Preferred:
Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
Basic knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning applications (ERPs).
Basic knowledge of Relational Databases or concepts.
Special Conditions Required:
Must pass a background check. May work outside of regularly scheduled work shift. May work holidays. Must comply with UC vaccine policy. Must have a valid CA Driver’s license and participate in DMV pull notice program.
