Job Description Quality Specialist Kraft Heinz Company Escalon, CA The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking Quality Specialist associates to work in our tomato paste, pizza sauce, salsa, peeled pear canned tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, tomato puree, and tomato sauce production area in Escalon, CA. Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the person selected for this position will be expected to become familiar with all aspects of Quality Assurance and provide cross-functional support to their assigned business unit. The Quality Specialist must work closely with the other members of the quality team and provide support to the cross functional departments. The Specialist will be required to continually contribute to the improvement of quality processes. The specialist will be expected to audit all plant quality systems, plant conditions, housekeeping, manufacturing/sanitation procedures, and outside warehouses. Position will be selected by an interview process. Benefits & Compensation Overview: Paid time off Holidays- 10 Company Paid Holidays/year subject to certain requirements Starting Pay $25.25/hour Health Insurance benefits Union facility-this is a NON-UNION POSITION Work Schedule: Monday-Sunday during the months of July- October First shift (6AM-2PM), second shift (2PM-10PM), and third shift (10PM-6AM). Escalon has a large agricultural industry which is based on the fertile farmland surrounding the city. The Escalon story began in the 1940’s by Cristoforo and Emma Colombo. Each season, our tomato crop begins with seed varieties that have been carefully cultivated by our research team to provide the best balance of flavor, aroma, and color. As a QA Specialist you’ll see first-hand how our tomatoes go from farm to table. You’ll be a front of the line employee who will contribute to our continuous growth. Responsibilities & Duties: May include, but isn’t limited to: Provide assistance in establishing and monitoring process controls to assure product safety and quality Align facility’s standards and practices to achieve high level of manufacturing compliance Comply with all Kraft Foods GMP policies. Audits quality systems for compliance, including Critical Control Points, Manufacturing Procedures, weight control, batch sheets, and HACCP plans. Independently provides shift Quality support and troubleshoots issues. Performs investigations (such as: Consumer Complaints, Extraneous, Overhead Leak, etc.). Investigate non-conformance utilizing problem solving techniques Assist in Quality Risk Management Process, FSSC22000 certification, and other third party audits Performs hold and release for non-conforming finished product and raw materials. Includes: placing product on hold in SAP and Matrix. Perform internal quality audits in the facility and implement corrective actions based on audit results Responsible for continuous learning and education. Understands business unit formulation to assist in implementation of new/changed formulas, including, but not limited to, updating formula spread sheets, batch sheets, related work instructions, processing programs (such as: RS Batch) , and the Quality formula database. (Computer knowledge is a must, excel and access) Trend nonconformities to determine root cause and drive preventive measures to avoid re-occurrences Assist Quality Supervisor and Manager in aligning processes and employee performances Develop, review, and update standard operating procedures Support QA Manager in QA department projects Support other department managers in audit projects and corrective actions Conduct QA trainings Additional duties as assigned Qualifications: High School Diploma with up to 5 years of in food safety and quality Or Bachelor Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Agriculture, or Manufacturing with 1 to 3 years in food safety and quality Experience in the following programs: HACCP, ISO22000, and GMP Process Control / Problem Solving Quality Auditing QA analytical instruments Experience in data analysis, technical writing in routines and training Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and statistical tools Bilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred) Location(s)Escalon Kraft Heinz is an Equal Opportunity Employer that prohibits discrimination or harassment of any type.
