Job Description Responsibilities & Duties: The Plant Project Engineer is part of the plant organization and plays a key role within the Engineering support structure in developing and sustaining the plant’s KHMS process. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager. The Plant Project Engineer is responsible for planning and executing of equipment/facilities projects throughout the plant as well as the scheduling and supervising maintenance and outside contractors to complete those projects in accordance with company standards in a timely manner and within budget costs. The Plant Project Engineer provides leadership in developing and managing all plant projects, which include, developing justification, cash flow management, design, project implementation, and startups. This position also includes being the key plant contact for all projects for the facility. Key Responsibility: Supports the plant’s KHMS process by understanding and updating the Engineering Chapters on time and using the tools to ensure projects are following KHC standards and practices. Responsible for developing, designing, coordination and implementation of plant capital projects. In a team environment provide support for building maintenance including identifying improvement projects for utilities including HVAC, Natural Gas, Water and Solid Waste. Involved in the coordination of equipment startups for all plant projects. Responsible for scheduling and directing outside contractors and in-house hourly mechanics and electricians assigned to projects in accordance with company policies and goals to understand and accomplish the following: Company Engineering standards and specific specifications for the project Contractor on-site personnel responsibilities to include following company safety, sanitary and conduct policies. Proper communication procedures to be followed both written and verbal. Assist in Prebid meetings, project presentations and coordinating meetings with appropriate personnel. Prepare and submits purchase orders, contract documents, and contractor safety documentation Prepare and review detailed project drawings/ specifications to ensure compliance with OSHA, and Kraft Heinz Sanitation, and Quality standards Assist Business Units in managing / enhancing preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, operator functions and continuous improvement program. Prepares and submits progress reports to the Plant Engineering Manager Fulfills specified yearly safety and quality requirements through various activities. Provide technical assistance and advice to other plant personnel.
