Twilio is Hiring a Remote Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A

See yourself at Twilio

Join the team as our next Senior Financial Analyst, Gross Margin Accounting.

Who we are & why we’re hiring

Twilio powers real-time business communications and data solutions that help companies and developers worldwide build better applications and customer experiences.

Although we're headquartered in San Francisco, we have presence throughout South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. We're on a journey to becoming a globally anti-racist, anti-oppressive, anti-bias company that actively opposes racism and all forms of oppression and bias. At Twilio, we support diversity, equity & inclusion wherever we do business. We employ thousands of Twilions worldwide, and we're looking for more builders, creators, and visionaries to help fuel our growth momentum.

About the job

We are seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our Revenue & CoGS Accounting team. This will be a highly visible role across the Controllership, FP&A, and Product groups helping to bridge the forecast to actual results and ensuring gross margin is optimized. You'll partner with FP&A and Product stakeholder on the Revenue and CoGS forecasts, support Accounting in product segmentation, model the financial impacts of methodology changes, and recommend gross margin optimization initiatives. Additionally, you’ll collaborate across the team to help automate data flows into workpapers, implement operational improvements, and complete other ad hoc projects.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Be responsible for understanding the core drivers of gross margin at the product level to enable and support accounting accuracy and completeness. Deep dive into metrics and data to deliver actionable analyses.
  • Build, support, and maintain system integrated workpapers to automate reconciliations, month over month accrual flushes, and predictive and other ad-hoc models to identify areas requiring further accounting analysis.
  • Have strong intellectual curiosity to partner with teams throughout the business to understand the available data and existing models that can be used. Help operationalize and support implementation of various processes across the business.
  • Partner closely with our FP&A team members to understand their forecast inputs to ensure alignment

Qualifications

Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!

Required:

  • 5 years in operational FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, PE or investment banking at either a high-growth technology startup or well-established company.
  • Excels at juggling multiple priorities, is eager to make an impact on the business, and motivated and able to collaborate across cross-functional teams to address complex problems.
  • Driven curiosity about understanding key drivers of a multi-faceted business.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - numbers are key, but a business is built with people. Cross-functional relationships and effective communication to non-financial audiences are critical to make an impact
  • Elite spreadsheet skills - your models are efficient, scalable, and intuitive. You can handle complexity but strive for simplicity, and are able to build for all audiences. Standard processes are second nature.
  • Solution-oriented - able to cut through the noise to identify the core components of a problem, and then drive toward an outcome that optimizes for business impact.

Location

This role will be remote, and based in the US.

What We Offer

There are many benefits to working at Twilio, including, in addition to competitive pay, things like generous time-off, ample parental and wellness leave, healthcare, a retirement savings program, and much more. Offerings vary by location.
