Summary: Precision Turbo and Engine is one of the world's foremost manufacturers of high performance, aftermarket turbochargers located in Crown Point, Indiana. In addition to a line of high-performance turbochargers, wastegates, heat exchangers, and fuel injectors, we are also a top distributor for many other performance products such as fuel system components, stand-alone engine management systems, and data acquisition systems. Quality Inspectors assist the Quality department through product measurement and verification, data collection and material tracking. This is a Monday through Friday day shift role with some overtime required. Pay rates start at $16/hour with an increase after 90 days. Generous benefits package, 401k and paid time off are offered from first day of hire. Duties and Responsibilities: Collect and review material for conformity to drawings Conduct material movements in system and within the warehouse per disposition Assist Operations with in-line inspection Support: Engineering, Purchasing and Quality with measurement competence and data compilation Create and maintain nonconforming material reports Follow all Company policies and process procedures. Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED 1-2 years of inspection experience, casting inspection experience considered a plus Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to use: calipers, micrometers, optical comparator, profilometer, height gages and other measurement devices Knowledge of Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, Powerpoint Adheres to all documented procedures Ability to work unsupervised. Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with others to meet production demands Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to learn new computer software programs, such as SAP Business One Knowledgeable in SAP considered a plus Physical Demands: Employee is regularly required to stand for 4 hours at a time, with minimal breaks. Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds. Employee is regularly required to wear safety glasses Employee is required to be on site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities. Requires daily face-to-face interaction with employees on production line. Work Environment: The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled production environment, with some exposure to loud noise.
