Tuknik Government Services is Hiring a Database Developer Near Remote in Chantilly, VA

Tuknik Government Services, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Database Developer with a Public Trust to support TGS and our government customer. This position is Remote. Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Work effectively as a database developer within cross-functional, agile teams
  • Design and develop custom database application capabilities using PostgreSQL and Oracle
  • Extract, transform, and load data using custom scripts
  • Program in PL/pgSQL and/or PL/Python
  • Tune SQL queries for better performance
  • Build database validation scripts to be used with CI/CD pipeline
  • Diagnose/debug faults in complex services or distributed systems
  • Support application team with database needs
  • Create production data modification scripts
  • Maintain data dictionary using Toad Data Modeler
  • Perform work under continuous deadline pressure
  • Identify and script automatable problems, test and perform work with efficiency in mind
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Experience in creating and maintaining database objects such as tables, indexes, views, synonyms, complex object types and collections
  • Ability to develop function and procedures in PostgreSQL
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with customers and multi-cultural teams
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and written) in English, in a clear, concise manner
  • Database development experience with Oracle
  • Experience with Database tools such as PGAdmin, DBeaver, SQL Developer, TOAD
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python) for development and automated testing
  • Experience with advanced data types in PostgreSQL, especially data manipulation functions for JSON objects
  • Experience working with AWS cloud-based services and tools, especially experience with RDS
  • Experience with automated database deployments with Jenkins
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with large databases
  • Bachelor’s Degree in science or related field
Other Requirement(s):
  • This position requires U.S. Citizenship or a Green Card holder and the ability to obtain and maintain a Government public trust level security clearance. For a candidate that is a Green Card holder, they must have lived in the United States for at least three out of the past five years prior to your application date. You will also meet the residency qualifications if you lived abroad while on government or military duty or if you were a dependent of a federal employee of military member.
Working Environment & Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
