Tucson Old Pueblo Credit Union is Hiring a Chief Operating Officer (COO) Near Tucson, AZ

Description

 TOPCU, a progressive and innovative Tucson Credit Union, where the work is rewarding, and your contribution is recognized, is seeking an experienced COO to join the team. Pay for this position ranges from $115-140K per annum.

Responsible for the strategic and operational functions of TOPCU's Member Service, Lending, and Operations departments, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) position provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure the company has proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.

You would be responsible for:

  • Driving the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives
  • The development and execution of strategic plans
  • Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external
  • Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company
  • Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and personnel designed to accommodate the strategic objectives of TOPCU
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance management team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the team

Requirements

Knowledge of:

  • Our mission and values, and communicate it to all members 
  • All applicable state and federal regulations
  • TOPCU’s policies and procedures
  • TOPCU’s products and services
  • All areas of your responsibility
  • Microsoft (Word, Excel, Power Point), Windows and all programs/software applicable to department

Ability to:

  • Mentor and coach
  • Streamline processes for maximum efficiency
  • Communicate vision to your teams
  • Work in a fast-paced, highly motivated atmosphere
  • Establish and maintain focus on long-term vision
  • Recognize and confront difficult issues and find positive solutions - commitment to do the right thing for the credit union
  • Challenge the process, peers and those with a higher level of authority

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Lending experience
  • Five years in financial institution management position
  • Five years in branch management or operations management

OR

  • Ten years related experience; or 
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred:

  • Commercial lending experience

Tucson Old Pueblo Credit Union was established in 1935 when Fire Captain John Slatz Freeman and 19 other men pooled their resources to form Tucson Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union. The first branch was at Fire Station One in downtown Tucson and the hours of operation were whenever there wasnt a fire. The firefighters invited the police department and all City of Tucson employees to be part of the credit union.
