TUBMAN is Hiring a Legal Services Coordinator (New Hire Bonus!) Near Minneapolis, MN

Tubman is seeking a Legal Services Coordinator for 30 hours per week to provide administrative and program support for our Safety Project, Self-Represented Legal Clinics, Pro Bono Family Law cases and Family Law Clinics. This position coordinates client placements in Self Represented and Pro Bono Family Law programs, helps staff attorneys create and update policies and procedures as needed, and assists in training, recruiting, and monitoring pro bono attorneys and program volunteers.

This position is located at Tubman Chrysalis Center in South Minneapolis. The work location is easily accessible via Metro Transit route 5.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and program support for Self-Represented Legal Clinics, Pro Bono Family Law cases, Family Law Clinics, and Legal Referrals
  • Coordinate the placement of Self Represented and Pro Bono Family Law cases
  • Schedule pro bono attorneys for legal clinics
  • Assists in recruiting, training, and scheduling volunteers
  • Assists staff attorneys with creating and updating forms, policies, procedures, and materials for legal programs
  • Updates and maintains attorney referral database and referral books as well as the legal database
  • Maintains program records, statistics, and materials
  • Participates in community collaborations related to the agency’s legal services

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree or 2 years administrative support experience in a legal field
  • Knowledge of relationship violence, sexual exploitation, addiction, mental health challenges, or other trauma
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in legal data management to include services notes, client files, and other related assignments
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and pressing deadlines.
  • Ability to welcome and engage a diverse group of stakeholders through a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office

Preferred Candidate

  • 4 years administrative support experience in a legal field
  • 2 years’ working with a diverse population, and/or victims of interpersonal violence
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Experience working in collaboration with various social and community services

Reports to: Legal Advocacy Manager

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated starting salary for the position is $22 per hour. This position is eligible for a new hire bonus up to $2,000 for full-time employment. Tubman provides a quality benefits package that includes a highly competitive paid-time off program, multiple health plan options, employer paid dental, short and long-term disability and life insurances, as well as other optional health and wellness insurances to meet diverse employee needs, and a 401(k) plan.
