Position Summary and Responsibilities
As the Director of Development you fundraising plan; initiate and cultivate relationships with new, current, and past supporters; secure financial and in-kind support to achieve or exceed annual fundraising goals; lead the resource development team; and play a key role on the agency’s senior leadership team to advance Tubman’s vision, mission, values, goals, and services.
Key areas of responsibility include setting the strategic direction and managing the successful execution of Tubman’s fundraising activities including: annual giving and direct mail, planned giving, corporate and foundation grants, major individual and corporate partnerships, sponsorships, special events, and in-kind drives. You will personally manage a portfolio of major gift relationships, foster relationships with institutional philanthropy, grow the donor base and overall giving across categories, and actively contribute to the success of the multi-year comprehensive Great Dreams Campaign by coordinating strategies with the newly created staff position of Great Dreams Campaign Gifts Officer (being hired concurrently) and Great Dreams Campaign Committee leaders, members, and other staff.
You will spend time in the community connecting with supporters and building new relationships, and time at each of Tubman’s two metro locations, with an office at Tubman Chrysalis Center in south Minneapolis. Metro-wide travel, occasional evenings and weekends required. The Director of Development directly supervises the Community Relations Manager, the Senior Manager of Grants, Contracts, & Compliance, the Development Assistant, as well as fundraising volunteers, and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Compensation and Benefits
The targeted salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000 depending upon experience. Tubman provides a quality benefits package that includes a highly competitive paid-time off program, multiple health plan options, dental, short- and long-term disability and life insurances, as well as other optional health and wellness insurances to meet diverse employee needs, and a 401(k) plan with up to 4% employer match.
