TT Electronics’ Olathe, Kansas facility, is an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of custom magnetic products and assemblies. The Olathe-based site has 65 years’ experience in the design and development of unique harsh-environment solutions for mission-critical applications.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

Introduction

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative and predictive maintenance and repairs of the building, grounds, and equipment. Maintenance activities must ensure that employee health and safety, product safety, and the protection of the environment are never compromised, and that all maintenance activities enhance product quality, business performance, and business priorities. 

Key Responsibilities

• Observes building systems and operations; Addresses and reports what is found to be in need of repair in a prompt and diligent manner.
• Fulfills services, such as facilities maintenance, HVAC services, custodial, parking lot maintenance, etc.
• Assist in planning for, implementing, and moving new production lines.
• Assist in maintaining a current facilities layout diagram for two manufacturing facilities.
• Coordinates the installation, maintenance, and moves of network drops.
• Possesses a passion for identifying unique solutions to problems.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations using 5-S principles.
• Uses various documentation to effectively and efficiently complete assigned tasks (i.e. maintenance and repair procedures, project specifications, base building drawing and sketches, and manufacturer’s safety data sheets).
• May serve as a main point of contact for cleaning services, fire department, lawn, and parking services.
• Maintains effective relationships with stakeholders throughout the organization.
• Deals with concepts, complexity, and ambiguity comfortably.
• Other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements

• A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record to operate motor vehicles is required.
• Be able to lift and move 50 lbs.
• Meets vision requirements specified by quality management system.
• This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Desireable Skills and Experience

• One to three years’ prior experience with facilities maintenance is preferred.
• Working knowledge at an intermediate level of computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
• Proficient knowledge of building equipment, building codes, and building systems (HVAC, plumbing and electrical) is preferred.
• Must be able to manage time and set priorities.
• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, kneel, climb stairs, ladders and equipment.
• Must have a good sense of balance to work on heights.
• Some lifting of medium and/or heavy equipment and tools.
