Our client, a leading utility company, is hiring a Technical Writer - Senior consultant on a contract basis.

Summary:
This role is to create an update IT Policy, systems documentation and other necessary documentation, user manuals, and other technical content that converts complex technical information to a non-technical language. This includes both user-facing documentation, such as technical manuals and tutorials, and internal IT documentation including IT inventory.
• Prepare, revise and update instruction manuals on a regular basis
• Disseminate technical information in easy-to-understand language for a non-technical audience including management and external users
• Have technical accuracy in writing user documentation
• Create IT documentation after a thorough collaboration with subject matter experts and technical staff
• Help other writers in creating and managing existing documentation
• Ability to take existing and potential content and improve it for management audience
• Convert complex documentation to easy language for multiple audiences
• Create product manuals with screenshots and tutorials
• Write documentation for internal teams such as developers and programmers
• Communicate complex ideas in a concise manner
Skills & Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related disciplines.
• 6 years of proven experience in writing technical documentation (Systems, Infrastructure, Ops manual, Change Management, IT Inventory)
• Understand and explain complex technical concepts
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Ability to undertake multiple projects and deliver on tight deadlines
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Solid grip on documentation publishing software such as Zendesk Guide, Camtasia, SnagIt, and other software
• Good working knowledge of MS Office, Visio, Project Plan or Google Docs
• Detail-oriented and can work independently
The following are not required for this position but would be considered as a valuable asset in a potential candidate.
Experience with regulatory compliance documentation such as NERC CIP
Experience reviewing documentation against audit recommendations.
Pay Range: $55-65
